How Does it Work?

A potential borrower looking for a short-term loan offers to pledge a piece of real estate property as collateral. Onecap Mortgage through it's Private Client Group, acts as an intermediary between the borrower and the investor who functions as the "lender." OneCap Mortgage rigorously screens the borrower and the property, and then presents the loan opportunity to its investors for investment consideration. Once the investor's approve and funds the loan, the investors provide OneCap Mortgage with a power of attorney, and then takes responsibility for collecting interest payments from these borrowers and remitting those payments monthly to the investors. At the end of the loan term or sooner, the borrower repays the loan and the original balance plus any interest owing is returned to the investor.
